Why am I receiving an error when submitting my iXBRL filing to Companies House?
This error typically occurs when the next submission number has not been entered, or the number used has already been submitted from another software.
Steps to Resolve the Issue
- Before you start, ensure you have the correct authentication code for the company, as it is required for filing accounts with Companies House.
- Go to your Clients and Accounts screen.
- Click on Practice Details on the left-hand side.
- Select the Presenter Details tab.
- Update the Next Submission Number field. When submitting iXBRL files to Companies House, it's essential to enter the correct details in the Presenter Details section. The Submission Number required should be a 6-digit number. Ensure all details are correctly entered to avoid submission errors.
Important Notes
- If you used a different system previously, find the last submission number you used and increase it by 1 within Bright AP.
- The next submission number must be a 6-digit number.
- If you are unsure what number to use, you can start with 200001.
Once a unique submission number has been entered (one that has not already been used for a Companies House submission), the system should allow you to submit the file successfully through Bright AP.
