I’ve imported a client from Relate into Bright, but I can’t see the option to roll forward balances for year-end. What should I do?
If you're not seeing the option to roll forward balances after importing a client, it's most likely due to the client type selected during import.
Key Reason:
If the client is set up as a bookkeeping client, Bright automatically carries forward the opening balances — no manual option is presented.
Only non-bookkeeping clients are given the option to manually choose whether to carry forward balances as part of the year-end procedure.
What to Do Next:
- Confirm whether the imported client is marked as bookkeeping.
- If it is, you can proceed with the year-end — opening balances will carry forward automatically.
