How can I assign directors to sign the accounts in Bright Accounts Production?
To correctly display the directors’ names and signing dates on the financial statements, follow these steps:
Step 1: Add Officer Details
- Navigate to: Compliance > Client Details > Officer Details
- Enter all relevant Directors and the Company Secretary.
- For each officer:
- Set an Order Number to determine listing order.
- Set a Signature Order Number to specify who signs and in what sequence (e.g., 1 for first signatory, 2 for second, etc.).
Step 2: Enter Signing Dates
- Go to: Compliance > Client Details > Compliance Database > Legislation > Dates & Signing
- Input signing dates for:
- Balance Sheet
- Directors’ Report
- Auditor’s Report (if applicable)
Step 3: Mark Accounts as Ready for Signing
- Open: Produce Accounts
- Change the Status to: Ready For Signing
This triggers the system to automatically pull in the assigned director(s) and display their names and signing dates on the appropriate pages of the financial statements.
Important Notes:
- Only directors listed with a signature order number will appear as signatories.
- If the signing section is blank or incorrect, double-check that:
- The officers are marked as Directors
- The Signature Order Number is not left blank
- The Signing Date is entered correctly
