Overview
BrightAccountsProduction has been enhanced to support an additional Professional Body within the Charity UK reporting template.
This update allows users to select the newly supported body in the Compliance Database – Auditor/Examiners section, ensuring the correct professional affiliation is automatically reflected in the Accountant’s Report or Independent Examiner’s Report within the year-end accounts.
To maintain compliance with Charity Commission reporting requirements, this option is only available for specific entity and jurisdiction combinations.
New Professional Body Added
The following professional body has been introduced:
The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT)
When selected, the professional body name will appear exactly as entered within the relevant Accountant’s or Independent Examiner’s Report.
Availability Conditions
The AAT professional body option will only be available when the following criteria are met:
Entity Type: Charity
Jurisdiction: United Kingdom or Northern Ireland
If these conditions are not met, the AAT option will not be displayed in the Professional Body selection list.
This ensures that the option only appears in templates where it is relevant and compliant with charity reporting frameworks.
How It Works
Users can configure this setting through the Compliance Database.
Steps:
Navigate to Compliance Database
Open Auditor/Examiners
Select the relevant Professional Body
Save the changes
The selected professional body will automatically populate the relevant statutory report within the year-end accounts.
Depending on the engagement type, this will appear in:
Accountant’s Report
Independent Examiner’s Report
Benefits
This enhancement provides several key benefits:
Ensures the correct professional affiliation is displayed in statutory charity reports
Reduces the need for manual editing of year-end documents
Supports AAT-qualified accountants and independent examiners
Improves accuracy and compliance with UK and Northern Ireland Charity Commission reporting requirements
