Overview
BrightAccountsProduction now includes a new configuration option allowing users to include or exclude the Accountant’s Report when preparing accounts under the Sole Trader template.
This enhancement provides greater flexibility in producing financial statements, particularly where an Accountant’s Report is not required or not applicable.
What’s New
Users can now control whether an Accountant’s Report is included in the year-end accounts through a simple setting in the Compliance Database.
This is particularly useful for:
- Businesses preparing accounts without an external accountant
- Engagements where an Accountant’s Report is not required by regulation
- Cases where a basic set of accounts is sufficient
How It Works
A new setting has been introduced in the Compliance Database:
Navigation:
Compliance Database → Auditor's/Accountant's Report → Type of Accountant's Report →
“Accountant’s report required?”
Available Options
- Yes
- Includes the Accountant’s Report in the final accounts
- No
- Excludes the Accountant’s Report entirely from the Sole Trader accounts
Benefits
This enhancement provides:
- Greater flexibility when preparing Sole Trader accounts
- Removal of unnecessary report sections where not required
- Cleaner and more relevant financial statements
- Support for a wider range of engagement types and reporting scenarios
