If you need to remove a Trial Balance import from Bright Accounts Production, you can delete the journals created by the import from the Nominal Ledger.
Delete a Trial Balance import
- Open the relevant Client/Dataset.
- Go to Nominal Ledger > Journals.
- Locate the journals created by the Trial Balance import.
- Highlight Journals for TB Import.
- Select Delete.
- Confirm the deletion if prompted.
The Trial Balance import journals will then be removed from the dataset.
Unable to delete the journals because the transaction is locked
If you see the message:
This transaction is locked because:
This transaction cannot be edited as the status of the dataset is set to Closedown.
the dataset is locked because of its current accounts status.
This is usually because the accounts are currently set to Ready for Signing or Closedown.
Unlock the dataset
- Open Produced Accounts.
- Select the relevant accounts.
- Open the Status options.
- Change the status to Not Started.
- Return to Nominal Ledger > Journals.
- Try deleting the Trial Balance import again.
Changing the status back to Not Started should unlock the journals for the current year and also allow changes to be made in the Compliance Database where required.
Once you have completed the required changes, update the accounts status as appropriate and reproduce the accounts.
Important
Before deleting a Trial Balance import, make sure you have a copy of the original Trial Balance available if you may need to re-import it.
Also check whether deleting the import will affect comparative-year figures or other data before proceeding.
If you are unsure which journals belong to the Trial Balance import, or the journals remain locked after changing the accounts status to Not Started, contact Bright AP Support before deleting or changing the data.
