If "As Restated" is appearing beside the prior-year comparative figures in the accounts, this is usually caused by postings to the Prior Year Adjustments nominal.
In Bright Accounts Production, the relevant nominal is:
991.01 – Profit and Loss Reserve Prior Year Adjustments
Remove the "As Restated" label
- Open the relevant Client/Dataset.
- Go to Nominal Ledger > Trial Balance.
- Search for nominal 991.01 – Profit and Loss Reserve Prior Year Adjustments.
- Review any postings against this nominal.
- If the prior-year adjustment is not required, move or clear the relevant posting(s) from nominal 991.01.
- Re-produce or refresh the accounts.
- Check the comparative figures to confirm that the "As Restated" label has been removed.
Important
Do not remove or reclassify a posting simply to remove the label if the prior-year adjustment is genuine. The "As Restated" wording may be required to accurately disclose a prior-year adjustment.
If you are unsure whether the posting to 991.01 should remain, review the adjustment with the relevant accountant or audit team before making changes.
