Why descriptions appear in bold
BrightAP displays a nominal description in bold when it differs from the default description expected by BrightAP.
This can happen on newly created clients, even if you haven't changed anything. The same descriptions may appear in bold across multiple clients because they share the same defaults.
Bold text is a visual indicator only. It does not affect postings, balances or the accuracy of your accounts.
How to view the original description
Select Show original description to see the default BrightAP wording alongside the description currently in use.
Can I change a description?
Yes. You can edit a nominal description for a business if you prefer different wording, for example, for reports shared with clients.
Will the descriptions be aligned?
There are currently no plans to align the descriptions between BrightAP and BrightBooks.
If the descriptions are aligned in future, any changes would apply to new businesses only. Existing businesses and their data would remain unchanged.
